The essentials
- Define whether you need crypto or a fiat payout.
- Check the subsequent withdrawal before buying.
- Order references and transaction hashes serve different purposes.
Deposits are not all the same
“Top up a wallet” can mean receiving crypto from another address, buying with ordinary money or an internal transfer between service users. “Withdraw” can mean sending crypto elsewhere or selling it for a card payout. Costs, checks and responsible parties differ.
Start with the intended result: receiving USDT on TON or sending the GRAM coin to a personal address, for example. If the objective is money in a bank account, a blockchain transfer alone is insufficient; you need a separately supported sale and payout route.

Identify the account and availability
Do not treat every Telegram wallet as one service. Walt contains a custodial account and a self-custodial DeFi Account, while TON documentation describes Telegram Money separately. Their balances, recovery methods and operation rules are not interchangeable.
Before depositing, check the next withdrawal as well as the receiving button. Verify asset and network support, regional restrictions and required verification. Being able to buy an asset in an app does not always mean it can be sent externally. Check the particular asset and feature.
Crypto deposits start at the destination
Open receiving in the account you intend to fund. Select the asset and network, copy the details and read the minimum amount. Then enter them in the sending wallet or exchange. Copy any recipient-required memo along with the address; do not invent one if none is supplied.
Walt’s current deposit help says a memo is not required for its deposits, but that is not universal across custodial wallets. Another destination may have different rules. Resolve discrepancies between older articles and the live interface through official support before sending.
Card purchases are a separate service
When an app offers card purchases, check the payment provider, debit currency and crypto amount to be received. Walt routes these purchases through third-party providers, which may impose their own country, card and identity-verification requirements.
Compare the full cost, including possible bank conversion and a later withdrawal. Do not repeat payment merely because crypto has not appeared immediately: bank authorization, order processing and credit are different states. Save the order reference and first check with the party that accepted payment.
Check the receiving side before withdrawal
For a crypto withdrawal, first open the new destination’s deposit screen. Confirm it accepts that asset on the chosen network. After pasting the address, verify the memo, recipient amount and fee. In self-custody, establish how network costs will be paid.
For a card payout following a sale, check availability of that exact service, its provider, final currency and payout conditions. Selling is not sending a token to a card number. If no suitable lawful route is offered, do not replace it with a transfer to an unknown person in direct messages.
Example: a two-operation route
Ilya wants to buy the GRAM coin and use it in a TON application. He is considering buying into a custodial account and then withdrawing to his own address. He therefore needs two checks: purchase conditions and external withdrawal conditions. A cheap purchase does not compensate for an unavailable withdrawal.
Before paying, he checks the destination wallet’s backup, TON support and combined costs. After buying, he sends a small permitted test. A confirmed balance at the final address shows the whole route worked, rather than merely the first card payment.
Do not confuse routing with automatic conversion
A cross-network deposit with conversion may provide special intermediary details rather than your ordinary TON wallet address. Such details can be single-use or time-limited, and the result depends on provider conditions. Reopen the offer before reusing any details. Do not send an arbitrary asset to an address issued for another operation, even after a successful previous deposit. Keep the intermediary’s order reference separately: the source-chain transaction hash describes only the first part of that route.
Result checks and support limits
Save a hash for blockchain operations, an order number for purchases and the service reference for internal transfers. These identify the right support route. A custodial-account review delay is not evidence that the entire TON network is malfunctioning.
If rules or amounts are unclear, stop before confirming. If an operation already happened, do not duplicate it until its status is established. Support may need payment details and account-ownership verification, but a recovery phrase is unnecessary for an ordinary transaction lookup. Recovery of an incorrect payment cannot be promised in advance.
