The essentials
- Check your status with the official @SpamBot.
- Describe facts and do not assume a fixed review time.
- Premium and paid “unban” services do not replace a review.
Not every failed message means a spam restriction
First establish the scope. Can you not message one person, post in certain groups or contact new people generally? An account restriction and a ban imposed by one group administrator require different responses. If only one chat is unavailable, a spam appeal may not address the situation at all.
Telegram’s official assistant for restrictions following spam reports is @SpamBot. Open that exact username, preferably through the official Spam FAQ, and start the conversation. Read its entire response: note your account status, available actions and any stated end date. Do not choose a bot merely because its display name says “Telegram Support” or its avatar looks convincing.
Privately note the exact error and when it appeared. “I cannot send messages” is too broad: a network failure, administrator restriction and limit on new direct messages are different. If SpamBot reports no restriction, do not automatically keep requesting an unban. Return to the particular chat and its conditions. This saves time and avoids asking spam reviewers to solve a problem outside that process.

What the restriction affects
With this kind of restriction, you can generally still reply to people who message first and contact people who have saved your number. It is not the same as account deletion. Being able to reach one friend does not prove there is no restriction, because different recipients can produce different results.
A report does not require advertising to thousands of people. Even a greeting or group invitation may be unwelcome if the recipient did not expect it. Consider why you contacted someone, not merely whether the wording was polite. A shared group, discoverable username or public profile is not consent to unsolicited direct messages.
How to write a useful appeal
If you believe the restriction is mistaken, use the appeal route offered by SpamBot. Briefly explain when you noticed the problem, what fails and why you suspect an error. Include genuine circumstances: perhaps you recently received the number, did not send bulk messages, or encountered the issue while contacting someone who expected you.
Do not copy a “magic unban letter” or invent an account compromise. One clear explanation is more useful than many identical submissions. Include only information necessary to explain the issue, without exposing other people’s private conversations or secrets. Never provide login codes, your cloud password or SIM access for an appeal.
An example without invented claims
Suppose you obtained a SIM, registered with Telegram and immediately encountered a restriction. A possible explanation is: “I recently received this number. After registering, I found that I could not message new contacts. I have not sent bulk messages. Please check whether this relates to the number’s previous owner.” Use only details that are true for you.
If your messages were actually unsolicited, do not present that as a technical fault. Read any deadline in the bot’s reply and stop the outreach. For an important work contact, use an already agreed communication channel and arrange for them to message you first. Do not create replacement accounts to continue the same unwanted contact.
Why there is no universal release date
Telegram describes initial restrictions as often temporary, while repeated violations can have longer consequences. That does not establish a precise number of hours for your account. Follow SpamBot’s actual response rather than somebody’s year-old screenshot. Submitting an appeal also does not mean it has been approved.
Premium does not provide immunity from the rules or remove a spam restriction. Services selling “access to a moderator” are especially risky when they also ask you to authorize another device. Do not pay for an outcome the seller does not control. Avoid testing whether a restriction has ended by messaging dozens of strangers.
How to avoid repeating the problem
Before a first direct message, ask a simple question: how does this person know I will contact them? For work introductions, obtaining agreement in a shared discussion or through a mutual acquaintance is better than sending identical offers to a username list. Use an opt-in channel for project updates.
After a restriction ends, do not resume the same campaign in smaller batches: unwanted contact, not merely speed, is the problem. If you find messages you did not send, separately inspect active sessions and account protection. An appeal addresses the restriction; reviewing devices helps establish who may have acted through your account.
