Start with whoever bills you

Cancel Telegram Premium through the provider that sold the subscription. Your current phone may not be the one used for purchase. If you subscribed on an iPhone, moving to Android does not automatically transfer billing management to Google Play, or vice versa.

Find the latest payment confirmation or subscription record. Identify the provider, store account, next renewal date and Telegram account covered by the purchase. Do not uninstall the app hoping to stop charges; that is not cancellation. If you received prepaid Premium as a gift, first establish whether you have any recurring subscription of your own to stop.

If your goal is simply reducing expenses, do not start by blocking your bank card. It may support other important payments, and replacing it does not establish the subscription’s status. First stop renewal with the seller and obtain confirmation. For suspected unauthorized charges, separately follow your bank’s and provider’s procedures; a disputed transaction and an ordinary voluntary cancellation require different explanations and evidence.

If Apple handles payment

On an iPhone, open system Settings, your name and Subscriptions. Select Telegram Premium, inspect the current period and use the available cancellation button. Continue to the final confirmation. If there is no cancellation button and an expiration date is shown, it may already be canceled; rely on the status rather than merely seeing Premium listed.

If Telegram is missing, check the Apple receipt for the account used. The subscription may belong to another Apple Account you use or to a family member. Do not randomly change payment cards or delete your Telegram account. Find the billing-account owner first, or you will be changing settings unrelated to the charge.

If Google Play handles payment

In Google Play, open your account menu, Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Find Telegram Premium and complete cancellation. On a computer, you can use Google Play’s subscription page in a browser. Make sure you are signed into the Google Account used for the purchase.

Do not confuse cancellation with a plan-change or temporary-pause offer if one is displayed. The outcome must match your goal: no next automatic renewal. If the subscription is absent, check only your own known accounts and compare them with the receipt. Removing Telegram from Android does not terminate recurring billing through the store.

If you subscribed through PremiumBot

Open the official @PremiumBot under the Telegram account that received the subscription and send /stop. Read its response to establish the renewal status. Merely deleting the bot conversation is not equivalent: conversation history and a subscription-management command serve different purposes.

If the response does not confirm the expected outcome, check whether the purchase actually used the bot. An Apple or Google receipt means you need a different cancellation route. Never send card details, a password or a login code to someone using a similar bot name. An order reference and receipt help the appropriate payment provider investigate; full access to your Telegram account does not.

Example: cancel today, keep the paid period

Suppose the next payment is shown for the 20th and you stop renewal on the 12th. After successful cancellation, Premium normally remains available until the paid period ends. The badge beside your name does not prove cancellation failed; an expiration status rather than another renewal matters more.

Keep the confirmation and end date, especially when canceling close to a charge. Avoid leaving it until the last moment because payment systems may have their own processing deadlines. If a charge already occurred, canceling future renewal does not necessarily refund it. A refund request is separate and subject to the provider’s conditions and applicable rules.

Your final checks

Reopen subscription management and verify canceled renewal or an end date without another scheduled charge. Compare it with the confirmation. Telegram’s free functions remain after Premium expires, while some enhanced capabilities stop. If you depended on expanded limits, consider beforehand what your everyday workflow needs.

Do not delete the entire account to cancel. Data loss is unnecessary for stopping payments, and a store subscription may continue billing even after Telegram account deletion. If a new charge appears after confirmed cancellation, contact the provider identified on the receipt with the cancellation date and order reference. Do not start another subscription in an attempt to “fix” the old one.
